TERMET CAE is intended for design, analysis and synthesis of composite materials. It works with laminar composites, composites with inclusions and composites with fibers and nanotubes that can be used in the electronics, laser technologies, aerospace, automotive and fusion power industry. The industrial attractiveness of the new composites will arise from the combination of properties not possessed by conventional materials such as high thermal conductivity combined with high strength and corrosion resistance. Such advances, expected in the coming years, will be the key to industrial innovation in thermal engineering appliances.
Innovative, interactive approach is based on computational modeling method and realizes several useful features, like data interoperability, flexible material database, GUI, various service functions. System may be used by materials engineers for complete design and preproduction estimation of thermal parameters in new composite materials or for the design of different thermal mechanical details of structures with complex geometry. It is also an outstanding tool for education, training and visual presentations for materials engineers.
I have developed big part of GUI and utility functions, visualization and fibers generation modules. System was developed with usage of Qt framework and C++ programming language. OpenGL and GLSL were used for visualization, and OpenCL for parallel data tasks.
